After trying all kinds of material means, I was led to buy a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, not knowing at that time how much I should be blessed. I was suffering intensely from a varicose vein, supposed to have been an inherited trouble. For five years I had been unable to walk the length of one room without support from rubber stockings. A very faithful physician and a good specialist pronounced it an incurable condition. After reading Science and Health for about six months and applying my understanding, I was completely healed. I can now walk as much as is required of me, and accomplish all the housework for a family of five.

Two of my children and I have been healed of a chronic bowel trouble. They had taken medicine for this condition all their lives, as I had the greater part of mine; in fact, I had been operated upon without results. Other ills that have been overcome are whooping cough (which was healed in a very few weeks), Spanish influenza, chronic cough, and indigestion.

The spiritual uplift and the close communion with God which have accompanied the working out of these trials are more to me than words can express. I am extremely grateful for all these blessings. I am grateful, too, for membership in The Mother Church and a branch church, and for the blessed privilege of class instruction. I am grateful for help from loving practitioners; but above all to God, and to our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for this truth—Christian Science.
