About eight years ago I was suffering with heartache because of fear and worry, which had held me like a vice in bondage for several years. Then the thought came to me to try Christian Science. I thought if that could heal me, which I knew no doctor or medicine could do, it would heal all my other troubles well as fear and lack. I knew nothing of a practitioner, but, as a lonely stranger, went to a Wednesday evening testimony meeting, thinking I might find some one who could give me advice. There I felt a harmony I had never experienced before. A lady told of being saved from a serious operation by a Christian Science treatment. It did me so much good that I made up my mind to thank her for the uplifting testimony and ask her if she could help me; which I did. She told me she would introduce me to a practitioner, and did so. The next day I was invited to the practitioner's house, and she explained lovingly and kindly that what I had thought was real was never real at all; that man is God's perfect child, and that his birthright is freedom from all that is unlike good. She said she would treat me; and when I left I felt like a new person. The heartache left me after treatments.

I bought the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. A Bible was given to me, and I studied earnestly; and before I realized it, harmony filled my home. Fear, lack, and bronchial trouble of many years' standing had all left me. My sister, who had been laid up for several months with a very bad case of rheumatism, was healed in three week's treatment. My mother was healed of stomach trouble in the worst form in about two week's treatment.

My heart goes out in thankfulness to God and to Mrs. Eddy, the noble woman whose purity and love and self-sacrifice enabled her to give to a world hungry for Truth this beautiful revelation. I am also thankful to the loving and kind practitioner who helped us so patiently. Christian Science has been the Comforter, bringing my husband and me safely through every kind of trouble, always lifting us higher spiritually. We are also grateful for membership in the Christian Science church and for class instruction.
