At the time of Mrs. Eddy's passing on I poured ridicule...

Leeds (Eng.) Weekly Citizen

At the time of Mrs. Eddy's passing on I poured ridicule upon Christian Science, because I had not the slightest knowledge of what it was and what it proposed to do. Since then I have studied the subject a little, and now I feel sorry I did not become acquainted with the fundamentals of Christian Science earlier. Last Sunday evening I went to the Cavendish road First Church of Christ, Scientist, and spent a very enjoyable, and, to say the least, instructive time. Although I was a complete stranger to every one present, nevertheless I felt at home; and after the service I was a welcome visitor.

Beautiful poetic thoughts run through the whole of Science and Health, and one can only come to the conclusion that Mrs. Eddy was a devout, spiritual woman, and a worthy head of the new church of thought. Christian Science healing is wonderful and the more one hears testimonies from people who have had the experience, the more one is convinced that the religion of Christian Science is common sense and, above all things, practical. Locally and nationally, the Christian Scientists are making great progress. A new church is to be erected in Headingley lane, the site having been purchased at a cost of two thousand pounds. The cost of the building will be ten thousand pounds.
