Under the heading "Failing Causes," you allude to Christian Science, and characterize it as belonging to that class. Now, the opposite phrase could be more appropriately applied to Christian Science, for, instead of "failing," it is rapidly spreading all over the world, and the list of its beneficiaries is daily increasing through the practical results which accure from the study of its teachings.

Christian Science is not orthodox as that term is commonly understood, yet its teachings are based solely on the Bible, and to state that "it has no rootage in apostolic principles" is the reverse of facts. Mrs. Eddy discovered, through her close application and study of the Bible, the basis upon which the great healing and redemptive works were performed by our Master, who said, "He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also." Mrs. Eddy has revealed to the world that Christianity can be scientifically applied to our daily problems, whether manifested as sin or sickness, and results appear in proportion as God and His laws are understood. On page 203 of Science and Health, the text-book on Christian Science, Mrs. Eddy states: "If God were understood instead of being merely believed, this understanding would establish health."

According to The Christian Science Journal, the official organ of the denomination, there were, in March, 1904, 814 churches and societies where Christian Science services were regularly held; whereas, in May, 1910, the churches and societies numbered 1215. Evidently, the impression that Christian Science is beginning to "totter" has no foundation.
