I have reason to be very grateful to Christian Science for many things, but one incident in particular I wish to give to the field. One day, about three years ago, as I was on my way to town, I stepped into a hole, injuring my left ankle severely. I fell down in great pain, but I immediately declared the truth, and after a few moments raised myself from the ground, though with much difficulty. I retraced my steps, the pain seeming to increase all the time, so that it was difficult for me to retain my consciousness.

Upon reaching the house, I immediately went to the telephone and called a Christian Science practitioner. She told me to have no fear, and that she would come to me at once. She did so, and gave me treatment. This was about the middle of the forenoon, and by noon I was able to rise from the couch and assist in preparing dinner. I received another treatment in the afternoon, and by ten o'clock that night the pain had all ceased, and also a feverish condition had disappeared. In the morning I put on my shoe as usual, and went about my work. Fear was not entirely overcome, but by the second day I was all right. I consider this a wonderful demonstration, as a number of years ago, when a young girl, I had a similar experience, and was unable to walk for weeks.

I am indeed grateful to God, and to Mrs. Eddy for showing us this blessed way out of our troubles.
