LOVE MANIFESTED

ST. PAUL writes: "Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honor preferring one another." This passage from the epistle to the Romans has impressed itself upon my heart very persistently since coming into an acquintance with or a comprehension of Truth, as explained in Science and Health, the text-book of Christian Science.

While I am as yet only an infant in this understanding, it comes to me more and more that the basis of Mrs. Eddy's teaching is Love, and it so, what a great responsibility is ours ! Should we not constantly ask ourselves: Am I manifesting Love? Am I preferring my brother's wellbeing to my own? Does Love rule every action? Am I as grateful over the success that comes to my brother, as he labors in his portion of the vineyard, as over whatever of good follows my own efforts in another portion? If to these questions I am able to reply emphatically, Thou knowest that I love thee, brother mine, I may rest assured of my nearness to the kingdom and of a rapid advance heavenward. If I cannot answer thus, I may well ask myself, Where do I stand? or, in our Leader's words, "Am I living the life that approaches the supreme good? Am

I demonstrating the healing power of Truth and Love" (Science and Health, p. 496).
