AMONG THE CHURCHES

First Church of Christ, Scientist, of this city, laid the corner-stone of their new church edifice, on Colby avenue and Thirty-third street, on Thursday, Sept. 1, placing therein a copy of most of Mrs. Eddy's writings and current copies of the Journal, Sentinel, and Monitor. The board of directors, the Readers, and the building committee were present. The building is a neat and attractive structure, in bungalow style, with a seating capacity of four hundred and fifty.

Very soon after the church was organized here, with a membership of only seven, they erected a church building, which they gave up in May, 1909, on account of increased numbers, and moved into Masonic Temple building, which has since been their home.—Correspondence.
