OUR PRIVILEGE
THE hope and the outlook of one who has gained the first glimpse of Truth not only remain firm, but as the first small proofs of Truth's power become more and more manifest, the mental outlook takes on the thought of brighter opportunities and sees more of the boundless growth which is made possibly by apprehending and demonstrating the Science of Mind, God. The privileges of such a one are great. The conviction that man reflects and manifests perfect Mind begins at once to eliminate the beliefs of stupidity, hypocrisy, lack of education, ill health, poverty, etc.
In honestly following the strict, clear reasoning of the teachings of Christian Science, one cannot remain stupid. It is simply impossible to turn away from his comprehension of the crystal-clear thought of "perfect God and perfect man" (Science and Health, p. 259) and exhibit in his everyday affairs the lack of wisdom and discretion which he once manifested. Unnumbered thousands testify to the increased clearness and consequent harmony of their thinking since they accepted Christian Science. This better understanding brings increase of capacity and power; it is an idea of omnipotent Mind, and not only stimulates thought but drives out all that would mar the harmony and beauty of life.
Thus the honest worker who strives for the right gets his reward constantly and from the start. He is lifted up into the atmosphere of intelligent harmonious thinking, and what joy and gratitude must be shown by him who has made this start and who knows that this is but the first sip of that fountain whose waters are life-giving and free to all. To our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, who has placed the character and works of the Master in their true light before the world, there ever goes out an increasing flood of gratitude from those who have responded to the call of Truth.
