Thanks to our heavenly Father, our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, has shown us the way to health and happiness. I cannot feel grateful enough for all the blessings we have received through this truth, which was revealed to us by the healing of my mother about seven years ago. So many ailments have been overcome that I shall not try to mention them all now.

Three years ago last fall, while I was away at college, I was exposed to a supposedly infectious throat disease. I made preparations to go home, and on arising the next morning I realized that a great effort was needed to overcome the attack, which seemed to affect my whole system. I took my copy of Science and Health and studied until it was almost time to go to the depot. I took the train, rode about twenty miles in the country, stayed with a friend over night, and went home the next day. The following day I rode a distance of twenty-five miles, and took a college examination, then came home the next day. The healing was realized from the time I came to my friend's house. This attack was overcome through the power of Truth alone.

The following springs, while away at a different college, I became ill, but attended class as usual. I then understood that my classmates feared contagion, so I asked to be dismissed. I had a very high fever, and after telephoning to my home went to bed, as I felt unable to be up. I was then boarding with a private family, and they called a doctor, who pronounced it a severe case of fever. These people were alarmed, and telephoned to my home at once, telling the family the doctor's verdict. My sister then called a Christian Science practitioner, who lived about twenty-seven miles from my home, and the following day my brother drove out to get me. I rode home, a distance of twenty-five miles, although it was in March. After that I was kept in bed for about three days, suffering intensely, but the fourth day I was up and dressed. I could not endure a light until the fifth day, and then I had to wear a shade over my eyes for a few days. Within two weeks the disease was all overcome, leaving no bad effects. How thankful we should be for the many privileges and blessings we can secure by declaring the reality of good and the unreality of evil!
