For twenty-five years I was a sufferer from severe headaches

For twenty-five years I was a sufferer from severe headaches. During this period I had treatment from fourteen different medical physicians, besides an osteopath. Some of these were close personal friends, in whom I had a great deal of confidence, but they could give me only temporary relief, and that was by the continual use of opiates and other drugs. It was because of failure to gain permanent health, and in utter despair, that I came to Christian Science, in March, 1907, through a friend who sent me a copy of the Sentinel. After reading this I immediately decided to try Christian Science. I went to see the Scientist, who kindly loaned me a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy.

For three weeks I did little or nothing but read this book, and my regular headaches failed to appear. I then ordered a copy of the book for myself, also the Christian Science Quarterly and Sentinel, and began to read and study in order to gain all the understanding I could of divine Principle. In about three months I realized that I was perfectly cured of an injury received from a fall when I was a mere child. The agony I had endured from it, and from the use of a support all these years, was very great. The next cure was of so-called varicose veins. I know that as I work out my own salvation the body will continue to express health and harmony.

For all this healing I am more grateful than pen can tell. It is my daily prayer that I may "rise in the strength of Spirit to resist all that is unlike good" (Science and Health, p. 393). I am also thankful that our Leader has made it possible for me to follow her as she is following Christ.—Ida W. Williams, Logtown, La.
