Six years ago I was healed through the teachings of Christian Science. A friend who knew of my prolonged illness, and that I had been under the constant care of good physicians for three or four years, told me of the healing efficacy of Christian Science. Until that time I had known nothing in its favor; I had heard it ridiculed from the pulpit by ministers, who even said that it was of the devil.

Two days after my friend talked to me about it, I went to see a practitioner, who gave me treatment and loaned me a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, and as soon as I began to read this book, I knew it was the most heavenly message which had ever come to me. I showed marked improvement from the first week's treatment, but it was about five months before I was entirely healed of all my ailments, a spinal trouble being the most stubborn to overcome. I was, however, entirely healed, and since that time I have had no other physician nor taken medicine; neither have I wanted any other, for the few attacks of illness which I have had have been much more quickly overcome than at the first. Severe colds have been overcome with two or three treatments, whereas under medical methods, if I took a cold in the fall I did not get well of it till spring.

I will mention one thing of recent occurrence that was another proof to me of Mind's control of the body. I injured my ankle about three O'clock in the afternoon. I began to treat it myself, but had, perhaps, too much fear about it. At any rate I failed to help myself, for in an hour I could not walk and the ankle was swelling rapidly. I then called on a practitioner for help, and by six O'clock I could walk, though I still limped somewhat. The next morning my ankle was perfectly well.
