Ever since Christian Science lifted me out of hopeless...

Ever since Christian Science lifted me out of hopeless suffering, I have endeavored to express my gratitude, in word and deed, though I have not till now tried to do it through our periodicals. As a result of a sickly infancy, and too rapid growth, I was a victim of female trouble, and physicians told me that there was no medical record of any help for the particular phase it had assumed in my case. I was very nervous, and for a number of years I had no consciousness of sleeping; my first waking thought was of being tired.

The morning after my first treatment in Christian Science I awoke rested and had breakfast with the family, eating what they did without discomfort. I had three weeks' absent treatment, but all I knew of Christian Science was that it was the work which Jesus did. I knew no other practitioner than the one to whom I wrote for help, I had only those who were just beginning the study for themselves to talk with, and in trying to fit my experience to theirs it seemed to bring me only confusion. I am very glad my healing seemed slow, for it gave me time to prove each upward step, through the study of the Bible, of which I had been a student, together with the writings of our dear Leader and the authorized Christian Science literature.

Since then my one desire has been to express in daily living the benefit of following closely the one who has zealously labored to give us the fruit of her unselfed love for God and man. To Mrs. Eddy, the loved Leader of Christian Scientists, the world owes a debt of gratitude which can only be acknowledged by following in her footsteps.—Ernie E. Richey, Yankton, S.D.
