AMONG THE CHURCHES

The Christian Science churches of Chicago yesterday [Nov.28] raised $2,038 for the Red Cross fund for the relief of Cherry, Ill., at morning services, and this amount will be turned over to Orson Smith of the Merchants' Loan and Trust Company today. Numerous other churches also took up collections yesterday and many private donations were sent to collection centers.

All the Christian Science churches, with the exception of First, which made its contribution a week ago, and Ninth, which will make its donation next Sunday, took up special collections yesterday. The amounts raised were: Second, $500; Third, $360; Fourth, $276; Fifth, $716; Sixth, $35; Seventh, $120, and Eighth, $30. Last Sunday First Church raised $372. Second, Third, Fourth, and Seventh churches took up second collections at the evening services last night, and these are to be counted today and added to the morning contributions.
