It is with joy, and with thanks to God, that I wish to tell of my healing in Christian Science. A little over two years ago I was invited by a friend who had been healed by Christian Science, to attend church with him one Sunday evening. I wanted to see what the service was like, so out of curiosity I went to Second Church in this city. Through my first experience of silent prayer I became a Christian Scientist, and I was healed of stomach trouble of over twenty years' standing. I had been treated by several schools of medicine, and had taken all kinds of remedies, but got only temporary relief. Through the study of the literature, together with two or three treatments and following the service, I have been absolutely healed; but the physical healing I count as secondary, for it is the purification of thought which follows a constant study of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, that makes Christian Science of the greatest value.

The truth has freed me in a measure, and I rejoice in that freedom and also because my understanding has enabled me to help others in seeking that truth. Mrs. Eddy says (Science and Health, p. 538), "Radiant with mercy and justice, the sword of Truth gleams afar and indicates the infinite distance between Truth and error, between the material and spiritual,—the unreal and the real."—Laurence J.
