I am very glad to be able to pay a heartfelt and grateful...
I am very glad to be able to pay a heartfelt and grateful tribute to Christian Science and to its Leader. The testimonies which I am constantly hearing at the Wednesday evening meetings and reading in the Christian Science publications, prompt me to give my own. My first experience in the wonderful efficacy of Christian Science was on what was thought to be my death-bed. I had been under the care of two of the best physicians in this city for seven months, and received some benefit, so that I went to work, for one week, but was soon confined to my bed again, in a worse condition than before.
It was then that my mother pleaded with me to try Christian Science, which had been recommended to her by a friend, and after a few days I gave my consent. A practitioner was called, and arrived promptly. As soon as the practitioner came I experienced great relief. I was given treatment by the practitioner, which helped me very much, and this was continued for three days. On the third day I ate a hearty dinner, and at three o'clock that afternoon I got up, dressed myself, and went outdoors. After this I received absent treatment for a short time, and soon was perfectly well in every way. I then sent for a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, also the Christian Science Quarterly. I find great joy in the study of the text-book and our other Christian Science literature. This truth is indeed, in the words of the psalmist, "a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path." It has given me the understanding that God is my Life, the source of my health and my strength.
