For some time it has been my desire to tell of the many...
For some time it has been my desire to tell of the many ailments of which I have been healed through Christian Science, the first being a very bad case of kidney trouble. Our family physician, one of the best in Cincinnati, came to see me three times every week for six years, but without any good results. He then tried electricity, but still I got no relief and was about to give up in despair. One day, when I was suffering intense pain, my daughter went to see a Christian Science practitioner and had absent treatment given me. I was healed at once, and have not had any attacks of the pain since that time. I was given up to die by the same physician, in an attack of acute lung trouble. He said I could not possibly live through the night. My husband was then asked if he would send for a Christian Science practitioner, and he said to send for any one who could save my life. A practitioner was called, and the next morning I was well, able to be down-stairs, and that day I helped to prepare dinner for my family. I have also been healed of chronic bowel trouble and headaches by reading Mrs. Eddy's book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures."
I wish this meager acknowledgment of some of the benefits I have received through Christian Science might reach all those to whom I voiced my opinion of it in former days,—an opinion which only expressed my utter ignorance of the subject. Yet I know God does not despise me, for I have had many blessings since that time and am having more peace and contentment of mind than I have had for many years. I give thanks for all this to God, and to our noble Leader for showing me the way.
Mrs. Jennie Long, Hartwell, O.
