When ten or twelve years of age, I was taken with a severe attack of whooping-cough, which afterward led to lung trouble. After doctoring for five or six years, I was told that my only help would be a change of climate. Following the doctor's advice, we left the South and went West, where for a time I was better, but soon became worse again.

Up to this time I was so weak that I could not sit up the whole day, and I was constantly under the doctor's care. Up to 1892 I had not heard of Christian Science, as I declined to read anything on religious subjects. The doctors told me that my lungs were so bad that I could not live much longer, and while I lay there, thinking that my end was near at hand, a neighbor came in and asked why I did not try Christian Science. I answered that the doctor said I had to go, but I consented to have her call a Scientist. When the practitioner came I soon had a very changed thought. She told me of what Christian Science had done for others and what it could do for me. I was healed in two treatments. This was in 1892. I am now a well and healthy woman and am able to do the hardest kind of work without any return of the old symptoms.

I cannot be too thankful for Christian Science, and to its Discoverer and Founder, Mrs. Eddy.
