For a number of years I had been troubled with sore throat, enlarged tonsils, and frequent attacks of laryngitis.

I consulted several eminent medical men and specialists, the latter recommending various remedies,—inhalers, etc. I was told not to go out of doors when it was wet, and to avoid speaking. I followed these instructions faithfully for six long years. Besides this, I was laid up two or three times in the year with an attack, more or less severe, of inflammation of the eyes, during which time I could do nothing but remain in bed, as I could not open my eyelids for two weeks. Two and one half years ago I had a very severe illness and was ordered to the country as soon as possible. I remained away for eight weeks. Getting no better, and in despair, I said to a friend who is a Christian Scientist, "I will try Christian Science."

It is now over two years since I applied to a practitioner in Manchester and had a fortnight's treatment, and I am happy to say I have had no return of either of the illnesses which I have mentioned. I am indeed grateful to the revered lady who has given us such a new view of Life and being and who has awakened in us, through the teachings of her book, Science and Health, a consciousness of divine Love, who is ever-present and all-powerful. This knowledge has cast out all gloom from my experience. My present state of health is excellent; I have never felt better or happier.
