An interesting example of the way the truth of Christian Science will take hold and grow from the seed within itself, making use of whatever means are at hand, is shown in the starting of the work in Honolulu.

A Scientist went there to live who was so young in Science that she had hardly commenced to do her own work. Finding herself twenty-one hundred miles removed from the nearest Scientist (and no cable), she saw at once that she must turn to Principle alone, for help. The test came very soon, and the demonstration was made.

Later, two Scientists from The Mother Church in Boston visited for a few weeks in the Islands, and expressed a desire to meet any one there who was even slightly interested in Science. There was one gentleman in town who had been healed of consumption by reading Science and Health. He was invited to meet them, and also four or five others. These met to study the Lesson-Sermon every Sunday afternoon, and at the second meeting a lady was healed of a chronic trouble considered incurable, through the power of the truth expressed at the meeting.
