Nearly eight years ago, after the reading of a Christian Science Journal, I was enabled to lay aside glasses which I had worn for over four years. Following this I read the Christian Science text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, from which I received such an uplift of thought, and such understanding, that I seemed to be made over anew. From a sense of languor and weakness I felt strong and well, and able to do my own housework with comfort, whereas before I came into Christian Science this seemed almost impossible.

Two good physicians had said I never would be very strong. For over two years prior to my coming into Christian Science I had to take some laxative medicine almost constantly, but this was no longer needed. I had been treated for my eyes by two specialists. They both pronounced it a severe case of astigmatism and said my glasses would have to be changed every year.

About five months after the specialist fitted me with glasses, I laid them aside and have never used them since. I can do fine sewing such as lace work, and read all I please without the slightest inconvenience. When the specialist found I had taken off my glasses, and why, he said that of course God does the healing, but He intends us to use means. He also said that if I persisted in going without my glasses I would ruin my eyes, and that I would be very glad to see him again; but I can truthfully say I have never needed to see him or any other oculist since.
