It is over five years since I first became interested in Christian Science through the healing of a friend, of consumption. All my life I had been a suffer with indigestion in a very severe form, and from various other diseases which seemed to accompany that disorder. I think I tried all the remedies of which I had ever read, and all my friends had something different to suggest, which each thought would cure me; but I found no lasting benefit from any of them. The summer previous to my learning of Christian Science I was forced to spend a part of each day in bed, and the remainder I sat in the garden and could scarcely bear even to read.

After a course of treatment by a specialist, who said that by dieting, not exerting myself, etc., I might be better, but that it would be a long time, I soon returned to my former condition, even though I continued to take the prescribed medicine. A friend then advised me to get a copy of Science and Health. I did so, and at the same time I asked a Scientist to treat me. In a very few treatments the dyspepsia disappeared, and I was entirely healed of that trouble. I was also very quickly healed of insomnia and various other ills. Before having treatment it seemed that I could scarcely bear the weight of my clothing, but in a short time after treatment was commenced this did not trouble me, and I could walk quite a long distance without the slightest fatigue. So complete was the freedom found in the healing power of Truth that within a month's time I could use a sewing machine for hours at a time, and not the slightest harmful results followed.

During the time I have been in Science many ailments have been met for me. About three years ago I had a very severe attack of neuralgia which had lasted nearly a week. I tried to help myself, but the pain seemed so very intense that at length I went for help to a practitioner. Immediately after receiving treatment the pain ceased, and has not returned.
