Work

There is a beautiful allegory by Carmen Sylva (Queen of Roumania) which tells of a girl named Sorrow, who, roaming over the world, brought to every one who looked upon her face, some kind of disaster, and who in her travels met two other very different creatures,—a woman called Patience, and a joyous maiden by the name of Work.

It was the duty of Patience to comfort those burdened with the visitations of Sorrow, and Work carried sunshine into the homes of all who opened their doors to her. Hers was a labor of love, and it brought her beauty, strength, and contentment. Thus it is with all who work with Truth as guide, no matter what the task may be.

We sometimes hear girls and boys say this or that is "so hard," and rather than make the needed mental effort, they shirk what are really simple tasks; but I am sure that satisfaction with themselves is not the usual result of such doing.
