Merely to name the name of Christian Science is sufficient...
Merely to name the name of Christian Science is sufficient to fill my heart with love and gratitude.
I was healed four years ago and immediately, together with my wife, took up the study of Christian Science. About one year after that we united with Fourth Church of Christ, Scientist, Chicago, and a few months later we enjoyed the privilege of class instruction. We then became members of the Mother Church, and we also joined the Central Christian Science Reading Room Association of Chicago. I am free to say that if there were anything else to join or any step to take that would more fully identify me with Christian Science, I would gladly and quickly take it, for I fully appreciate the many blessings and benefits that have come to me through attending and taking part in the services and the business meetings of the church and Reading Room Association.
A few days ago, in conversing with a friend who expressed a desire to know something of what Christian Science is, I told him that if he really wanted to know what it is, there was nothing that could prevent him from knowing all about it. I told him of the reading rooms where all the Christian Science publications could be read or purchased, and I also told him that I had been healed of a severe nervous affection of the stomach, and chronic constipation and sick headaches; that I had been delivered from the bondage of tobacco, medicine, and stimulants, to which I had been a slave for twenty years. I further told him of the peace of mind, the happiness and contentment, that had come into my life through the action of this blessed truth. He asked me if we believed in God, and I replied that Christian Science is a study of God; the text-book of Christian Science, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," contains a complete statement of this Science, and that the study of this book enables us to know the truth about God, and also the truth about man.
