Christian Scientists know that the Son of God was manifested...
Wilmington (Del.) News
Christian Scientists know that the Son of God was manifested, as John declares, to destroy the works of the devil (or error), and that which he destroyed was sin, sickness, and death. Therefore follows the logical conclusion that rheumatism as well as all sin and sickness is not made by God, but is destroyed by Him. Hence Christian Scientists are not as eager to hold on to that which God did not make, or to the belief of its reality, as is the good preacher. Christian Scientists admit that there is as much reality to rheumatism or gout as there is to temper, envy, jealousy, hatred, sensuality. They know, too, that the former can be destroyed by the grace of God as well as the latter, and by the same scientific, Christlike, mental process.
