New York, November 29.—The new edifice belonging to First Church of Christ, Scientist, located at 96th Street and Central Park, west, was dedicated at three o'clock this afternoon.
The seating capacity of the church is twenty-five hundred, the membership twelve hundred, and the number of its students of Christian Science is fourteen hundred.
The order of the exercises was as follows: Dedicatory anthem, written especially for this occasion. This was rendered by Miss Mary Reno Pinney, the organist, assisted by a choir of one hundred voices. Next a hymn written by Mrs. Eddy, sung by the whole congregation. Third, selections from the Bible and Science and Health. Fourth, solo by Mrs. Charles Herbert Clark, soprano, entitled, "Saw ye my Saviour?" written by Mrs. Eddy. Fifth, offertory and repetition by the congregation of the Lord's Prayer. Sixth, dedicatory address by Mrs. Augusta E. Stetson. Seventh, anthem, "A New Heaven and a New Earth," by the choir, with Mr. George Ensworth as soloist. Eighth, solo by Mrs. Charles Henry Cottrell; and, last, the Hallelujah Chorus.
