In the year 1900, our little daughter, then three weeks...
In the year 1900, our little daughter, then three weeks old, began to cry one afternoon, and cried until nine in the evening. This was repeated for a week, nothing could stop her, it rather grew worse and the doctor could give her no relief. Then one of our relatives asked me if I had faith in Christian Science, to which I answered that I did not believe in it, but she might call a Scientist. After the child had received treatment for two days, she began to get better, and in two weeks was entirely well. The following year she had a pulmonary fever and Christian Science healed her. During the same year I was healed of some growth on my eye and several other ailments.
When Eleanora was three years old, she had the whooping-cough and pulmonary trouble again, besides brain fever. We sent for a physician, and after the child had been in bed for six weeks, she had a relapse, which was worse than the first attack, and with this came consumption of the stomach. The physician and our friends thought that she would never get well; she was so weak that she could not raise her hands or feet. It seemed as if I could not e dure to look at her, she suffered so. No one gave any helpful advice, and then I again turned to Christian Science. I went to the practitioner and told her of the conditions, and that we would now place all our hope in God. After two weeks' treatment, one trouble after another disappeared, and now she is perfectly well. Every one expresses surprise at her healthy appearance.
After she was healed, our son, seven years of age, was taken down with typhoid fever. This time we did not try a doctor first but sent for a Scientist, for we now knew where to look for help in all trouble. Our boy is now well and strong and is in better health than he had enjoyed for several years previous to the attack. We cannot thank God enough for all He has done for us.
