It is with a sincere desire to help...

It is with a sincere desire to help others that I write this testimony. In the midst of a full and happy life, at the age of twenty-eight, I was stricken with tuberculosis. No expense was spared in trying to effect a cure, but without results; and for eight ears I did nothing but rest at different health resorts and in sanatoriums; the last year of the eight was spent in a home for incurables. After all hope of a recovery was gone, I went home to die.

I had asked that visitors should not be allowed to see me, as I felt the effort to talk too great. However, a friend begged to see me for five minutes, and in that time she introduced Christian Science to me. The next day she brought me the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. It was too heavy for me to hold, and I had no intention of reading it through; but after I had read about a third of the book, I realized that God could and would cure me. So I got up to prove it; and only two weeks after hearing of Christian Science I commenced to lead a normal life. Three months alter that I passed a medical examination and sailed for South Africa. I arrived on the day World War II was declared and started working ten days later. I worked for two and a half years without a holiday.

I was then guided by God to make a most happy marriage, and at the age of forty-two I gave birth, with the help of a practitioner, to a lovely daughter, with a perfectly normal confinement.
