HE SENDS HIS ANGEL

The chains, the prison watch and gates gave wayBefore the angel that bade Peter riseAnd follow him. No prison bond could stayThe angel's freeing hand. And Peter, wiseIn faith and prayer, obeyed and followed outAnd through one street—the straight and narrow oneOf consciousness devoid of fear and doubt—And came unto himself, with bondage gone.

When angel thought illumines your dark nightOf prisoning ill and bids you wake and rise.Pause not in questioning, but heed the lightAnd follow out where freedom's pathway lies. The Lord has sent His angel—heed its callAnd follow safely past each prison wall.
