GIVING GOD A CLEAR FIELD

[Original article in French]

The expression, "Give him a clear field," is often used when one wishes to give someone he trusts and loves complete liberty to work as he wishes. It means that the one to whom such latitude is granted can at his discretion organize, determine, and adopt a project with the assurance that no objection or obstruction will be raised.

Those who love God above all else desire to give Him a clear field in their lives. To do this requires a right understanding of the Supreme Being, for ignorance and blind faith may make a zealous heart act contrary to the divine will in the belief that its feelings and acts are sanctioned by God.

The ministry to which Christ Jesus dedicated himself so selflessly and earnestly was the establishment in human consciousness, through teaching and healing, of the truth of God and man. Paul in his epistle to the Colossians mentions that in Truth "are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge" (2:3). These gems of spiritual understanding so transformed his life that he could say (Gal. 2:20), "Yet not I, but Christ liveth in me."
