As a young child I developed an impediment in my speech, which got worse as I advanced in years. I suffered greatly in m school associations because of my inarticulation, and in my teens I could only hold those jobs which did not require me to speak. I had also developed an inferiority complex by reason of my inability to be at ease in company.

Then in my early twenties I took up the study of Christian Science, although not with the thought of a healing, for I had accepted this trouble as a part of me. However, through the help of Christian Science the discordant condition has fallen away. Confidence has been restored, and I can now speak with ease. For this healing I am very grateful, for I have been able to take on various duties of branch church membership and to fulfill the normal demands of business and society. I am grateful too for membership in The Mother Church.

While going through a period of unemployment, when I could not seem to grasp the truth of man's real status as the perfect reflection of the perfect, ever-active Father, I was lovingly given this message. from "Miscellaneous Writings" by Mrs. Eddy (p. 353): "The divine Principle carries on His harmony."
