The effect of a campaign of faith cure held lure under the sponsorship of the: largest nonconformist religious group in this country have shaken the nation right down to its foundations of religious freedom. The hostile attitude taken from the very start by the press, as well as by the medical profession, resulted in public demands for police interference with the activities of this group, and our nation was all of a sudden confronted with the full and deep significance of freedom of religion and conscience as defined not only in its own statutes, but in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights by the United Nations.

Because of this incident and its repercussions the Swedish people in all walks of life—let alone the clergy and the medical profession have suddenly and forcibly been called upon to take a definite stand as regards healing on pinch religious grounds and also to realize that they too have through their government subscribed to this Declaration of Human Rights.
