"Thy word is truth"

(John 17:17)

"Thy word is truth," prayed Jesus with the twelve.
The word that in itself has power to heal
He knew and ministered, giving the meal
Of gladness to the world; to those that delve
In matter's fruitless soil he showed the real.

He showed man in Love's likeness, perfect, pure,
And spoke of when the Comforter should come;
All things would be explained, the voices dumb
Sing songs of joyous praise, and feet made sure
Through Truth step forth, their fetters overcome.

The crown of Science rises o'er the mist,
Above the cross; the Comforter is here,
Speaking unto the world in accents clear.
The hour is come all error to resist;
To lift, to heal, and wipe away the tear.
