"A little child"
[Written Especially for Children]
Joy is a very little girl who loves to think and talk about God. Not long ago her daddy sold their house and they moved to a new home. The day the moving van came, the household was quite upset, the family were all busy, and Joy felt there was something going on besides the happiness she was used to She ran to her mother, who seemed a bit weary, and said, "Mummie, God is the 'portant thing." Tears of gratitude came to mummie's eyes because little Joy, even on that busy day, was putting God first in her thoughts. Her mother sat quietly for a while, thinking about God, His goodness and His ever-presence. All at once she knew she was healed of something which had been trying to make her believe she was sick. The rest of the day was a happy one, and all that had to be done was done easily.
Jesus loved little children. Once one of his disciples asked him, "Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?" And the Bible tells us that "Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them, and said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven." Now, the word "convert" is easy to understand; it just means to change one's thinking from wrong to right. We really think our way into the kingdom of heaven. Or, we might say, when we think as children of God we find that we are really living in God's kingdom now. What a lovely place that is to live in, for where God is, good is! Someone has written:
