The Procession
Jesus manifested the Christ; he expressed the orderly unfoldment of the Christ-mind in a continual procession, or progression, of divine concepts. He stilled the tempest, healed the sick, fed the multitude, raised the dead, and overcame for himself the belief of death and the grave. He proved the power of Mind over matter, Life over death, and Love over hate. In manifesting the Christ, Jesus illustrated what each and every human being can do. In the ascension he proved that there is no matter. Man, the idea of Mind, is one with Mind. There is nothing to man, as idea, but Mind.
In the seventh chapter of Luke is given an inspiring account which evidences the great compassion and ministering love which Jesus expressed, and the power he possessed and utilized in healing the sick and regenerating mankind.
Jesus, together with his disciples and others who were seeking to know and better understand the master Christian, and to gain more of the spiritual understanding he possessed, went to the city of Nain. As they came to the gate of the city they met a funeral procession, that of the only son of a widow. Jesus' comprehension of the mortal suggestions of loneliness, loss of means of support, and sorrow that this bereaved mother might be feeling, awakened in him a great sense of compassion, of affection and tenderness. It was the compassion which does not accept the illusion of loss and separation as real; which has no human sense of pity or sympathy with error, but reveals the eternal Truth which knows no error, and instantly corrects the material sense testimony with the understanding of man as God knows him, as His own image, the likeness of eternal Life, of infinite Love.
