In this age of modern civilization the spiritual values of existence have by a large number been relegated to the background of their lives as being of no use in the solution of their problems. The result is that we seem to be confused and puzzled as to how our present difficulties can be overcome. That there is a solution, and a very sure one, is obvious to all who will look at Christianity from a practical point of view, to be used in everyday experiences. . . .

Either God is, or He is not. . . . He is Love, so that His law is loving. Jesus, the teacher and demonstrator of God's love, epitomized this truth in the briefest and simplest statement of law, in the Golden Rule. Countless doctrines have tended to hide the simplicity of his teaching by surrounding it with mystery and dogma, making God mysterious, unknowable, and almost unapproachable. Instead of this, Jesus proved by his recognition of the unity of man with God that He is lovable, knowable, and demonstrable.
