The Lectures

Introductions to Lectures

Kendal, Westmorland, England (Society).

Lecturer: Ralph B. Scholfield; introduced by Miss Elizabeth Scott Young, who said:—

In the Gospel of Matthew it is recorded that our Master said to his disciples, "Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven." We all know how naturally a child accepts what is good. To the sick and the sorrowful, to those who have lost faith or hope, Christian Science comes with its healing message to restore the childlike qualities of joy and receptivity, teachableness and humility, which do indeed open the way to the kingdom of God. This open-hearted receptiveness to good has nothing to do with years or circumstances; it belongs to each one of us, as a child of God, and it is ours to claim and to use here and now.
