I am grateful for this opportunity to acknowledge a small part of my indebtedness to Christian Science for what it has done for me and mine.

Our daughter was the first in the family to become interested in Christian Science. Our youngest son was taken ill one night, and my husband, not understanding Christian Science and being somewhat opposed to it, called a doctor. The doctor did not seem to know what the trouble was and called a specialist, who pronounced it infantile paralysis. Our daughter wanted Christian Science for her brother; so, although I did not know much about this Science, I called a practitioner. After one week's treatment he could walk with help. The specialist had said he would always be lame and deformed, but this prediction Christian Science proved to be false. He has since been captain of the hockey team in high school, played baseball and football, and participated in various other sports.

Another son, who was away working, came home unexpectedly. He had been ill several days before he came home. On his way he met a doctor, who told him to go home and go to bed, because he had walking typhoid fever. A friend was staying with me at that time. She was going through class with a local Christian Science teacher. We asked her to handle the case. In an hour's time the boy's appetite returned, and in three days he was healed and was permitted to return to his work.
