There is nothing more beautiful than a harmonious home. In "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 58) our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, writes, "Home is the dearest spot on earth;" and on page 254 she says, "Pilgrim on earth, thy home is heaven; stranger, thou art the guest of God."

A happy childhood home is a priceless gift, and its joys and blessings spread their influence on all our future life. In Christian Science, however, the thought of home takes on a wider, more expansive meaning.

As the years pass, the human home may be broken up; unexpected changes may take place in our lives; wanderings, loneliness, strange experiences may paint themselves on the canvas of mortal thought. Human reason cannot still anguish or heal bitterness. But when Christian Science comes into our lives, we begin to understand that if we wish to alter outward conditions we must look within in order to purify our individual thinking and gain understanding of God.
