My heart is full of gratitude to God for giving us Christian Science. For over fifteen years it has been our only physician, and it has never failed us. We have had many wonderful proofs of God's care.

There are two healings which stand out like beacon lights. I was very young in Science when our daughter, then six years of age, became very ill, and could not retain any food. Day by day she grew weaker and weaker. I worked for her the best I knew how, but I could not overcome my fear. One night fear engulfed me. In the depths of despair I rushed to a practitioner. He said, "I will work for you." It seemed strange to me at the time that he should work for me and not for the child. That night she slept more quietly. Tears of gratitude filled my eyes the next morning, when she sat up in bed and said, "Mother, I am hungry." She ate a hearty meal. Trustingly, I placed her in God's care. The healing was instantaneous. All that day she played with her little brother, and when my husband came home that night, he found a happy little girl greeting him. Is it any wonder that Christian Scientists glorify God for this wonderful truth that makes free?

The other outstanding healing was of a poisoned finger. Our boy, when a baby, cut his thumb. It became infected, and the whole finger turned black. The same practitioner worked for him. In one day the thumb was healed.
