After plodding through a labyrinth of mental darkness...

After plodding through a labyrinth of mental darkness for years, I finally prayed to God for help. Soon afterwards I was given a Christian Science treatment by a loving practitioner, which instantly freed me from a very painful condition, the result of a surgical operation on my throat. Through the glorious enlightenment which came to me, I knew I no longer needed to grope in darkness, for I had found the answer to all questions—God's tender love for His creation.

After this beautiful experience of spiritual regeneration, I purchased "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy and the King James Version of the Bible (a book I had never owned or known much about), together with the Christian Science Quarterly; for I had a keen desire to know more about Christ, Truth, which has ever been, is, and always will be near us, to heal us, when we are ready and willing to be healed, of sin and sickness.

Through daily study of these essential books I have gained a degree of understanding which has enabled me to prove the unreality of conditions such as sinus infection, which a specialist had said would ultimate in insanity if not cured, and which medical treatment did not cure; also hemorrhoids, sciatic rheumatism, a painful periodic mental and physical condition, influenza, sick headaches, the cigarette habit, and an inordinate taste for intoxicants. The last two fell away at the time of my first healing in Christian Science. These habits, together with a generally unhealthy moral condition, have been gladly sacrificed on the altar of divine Science. Christ, Truth, has brought a true basis of thinking, and has given me hope, good health, and happiness.
