In Proverbs we read: "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths." These lines have always brought comfort to me, but not until I read the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by Mary Baker Eddy, did I understand how to trust Him in all ways.

Although I purchased a copy of the textbook and read a good deal, I did not seem to remember what I read nor did I see what it had done for me. Some years later, while facing a trying problem, I decided to visit a relative so that I might attend the church services regularly and study in peace. When inquiring where I might find the Christian Science church, I was told not to have anything to do with Christian Science; that if I knew what it was, I would not. Then my eyes were opened and I said, "I know what it is." In that moment I was indeed grateful that nothing could prevent me from demonstrating what I knew. The privilege was mine of attending the church services, including the Wednesday evening meetings, for most of the eight weeks of my visit.

Since learning to be grateful for what Christian Science has taught me, I have had the privilege of joining The Mother Church and a branch church and taking part in the activities of the latter.
