I feel I can no longer delay in giving my testimony, and wish to express in words my gratitude for all the rich blessings which have come to me since taking up the study of Christian Science. My gratitude to Mrs. Eddy is very deep for generously and unselfishly giving to the world the healing truths contained in that wonderful book, Science and Health. As a result of having studied this book, in connection with the Bible, for the last eight years, I have indeed found the way to freedom and happiness. Fear, darkness, and doubt have been replaced by joy, hope, and trust, because I now know what God is.

At the time I first learned of Christian Science, I had had four operations, and was filled with fear because my doctors had suggested that I submit to another one for internal adhesions, from which I had suffered for many years. One morning a friend called to see me upon a matter of business, and then it was that Christian Science was presented to me I had been in bed for six weeks, and was truly thirsting for the "cup of cold water" which was now so lovingly given to me. My friend sat and explained Christian Science to me for about two and a half hours. Suddenly I glimpsed some light, and realized shortly afterwards that I need not remain in bed any longer. The next morning I arose and dressed, feeling as I had never in my life felt before. The spiritual inspiration I received was indeed a marvelous experience.

It was over two years before the actual healing of adhesions occurred, and many a time I would have to fight fear. One day I said to a practitioner, "I wonder when I shall ever get my healing," and she remarked, "Your healing will come when you cease to look for the loaves and fishes." I have always been grateful for that remark, for it opened my eyes to many things. Now I realize clearly that all we ever need to do is to study more diligently to learn what God's qualities are, and then to express them in our daily life. God does the rest, and supplies only good. I have had many healings, and have witnessed others in my family, so I am convinced that Christian Science is the truth which Jesus taught and practiced.
