Having derived so much help from the testimonies in the periodicals, I should also like to use this means of expressing my gratitude for the many blessings our family has received from the application of Christian Science.

About sixteen years ago my mother was suffering from a tumor. The doctor attending her advised an immediate operation. She had known of Christian Science for only a short while, but she now decided to try it. Treatment was begun, and in a short time she was healed, proving the truth of the promise in the Bible, "The word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword." Ever since, Christian Science has been the only physician to which my mother, my sister, and I have turned.

When I was about sixteen years old, I became seriously ill with scarlet fever. One day when it seemed to my mother that I would pass on, a practitioner was sent for. I remember the practitioner sitting beside my bed singing, "Shepherd, show me how to go" (Poems by Mrs. Eddy, p. 14). My recovery was rapid.
