Extracts from Reports of Christian Science Committees on Publication

An outstanding event of the past year was the visit paid to this country by the Hon. C. Augustus Norwood, Committee on Publication for The Mother Church, and Manager of Committees on Publication. Meetings were held in Bournemouth, Bristol, Birmingham, Dublin, Glasgow, Leeds, Manchester, and Newcastle-on-Tyne. At one of these meetings over twenty-five hundred Christian Scientists were present, and there were many experssions of gratitude for Mr. Norwood's address.

Three meetings were held in London. A meeting at First Church and one at Ninth Church were open to all the members of the other London churches; while the third meeting, held in Third Church, provided for the membership of the churches and societies in the counties adjacent to London. The latter meeting was also attended by the members of Third Church, London. A conference of County Committees on Publication, Assistant Committees, and appointing Readers, was held in Eleventh Church of Christ, Scientist, London. At this conference Mr. Norwood discussed the work in detail.

Judging from the number of sermons containing references to Christian Science it is evident that the subject of spiritual healing continues to interest the Christian churches. Sermons on Christian Science are sometimes reported to this office by the Committees on Publication or Assistant Committees, some of which contain friendly and some unfriendly references to our religion. The two following instances when clergymen have expressed their appreciation of our Leader's work are gladly reported.
