With a heart full of gratitude for all the benefits that have come to my family and me through Christian Science, I write this testimony. In the years that we have been interested in this Science we have had many healings, physical, mental, and financial. Of these I should like to relate two physical healings, which have been milestones in my progress in Christian Science.

The first of these healings took place in 1920, and was of double pneumonia. On Christmas Day of that year I called on my mother, who was very ill. On my return home I was taken suddenly and violently ill; a high fever raged, and I was soon unconscious. My wife wired a practitioner for help, which was lovingly given, and the next morning I awakened and everything was bathed in light. I heard myself declaring that God was the strength of my life. I was healed. The third day after this I was back at my place of business.

About four years ago, while engaged in my work as a professional photographer, I was seriously burned by a flashlight that exploded in my face, burning my face and hands. Being quite a way from my home, I was faced with the problem of driving my car and getting home. I called my wife, asking her to telephone a practitioner for help; and a friend assisted me to my car. I prayed for divine guidance and was able to drive the four miles to my home through busy night traffic without any difficulty. I kept declaring that God guided His children all the way. Some of the flash powder had gotten under my eyelids and aggravated them so that I could not see to read. When I called the practitioner this condition was mentioned, and while we were talking the little particles dropped from my eyes, and they were free. During this experience the practitioner brought out very clearly that the real man had not been touched and could not be touched by fire; that man is spiritual, not material, and this spiritual man could not be burned. By our clinging steadfastly to this truth, the healing was accomplished, and in two days I was back at my work, and there is no scar to remind me of the experience.
