"The dear children's toy and strong tower"

It is natural for children to love the Bible truths and stories, and to love learn, through Christian Science, how to apply those truths in their own daily experiences.

What a privilege it is to have a part in teaching Christian Science to children, either at home or in the Sunday school! And in presenting to them the divine facts about God and man, how important it is to know that these facts are not dry, abstract, or difficult to understand, but are ever fresh and inspiring, simple and sweet! Our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, referring to the universal value of Christian Science, speaks of it as, among other things, "the dear children's toy and strong tower" (Miscellaneous Writings, p. 252).

This joyous sense of Christian Science had been gained by a certain little girl in a Christian Science Sunday School. One day when her teacher began to question the children in the class about the Commandments and Beatitudes, she clapped her hands and exclaimed, "Oh, I just love questions!" She loved to hear about the truth, and to tell what she knew of the truth. Appreciation and love for Christian Science—for "the dear children's toy and strong tower"—are natural to the child thought; and if these qualities seem to be dormant, they can be brought out by tender care and attention.
