I wish to say how very grateful I am for Christian Science

I wish to say how very grateful I am for Christian Science. Through the study of the Bible, and the application of Christian Science as revealed through the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and her other writings, I have been enabled to overcome a very severe nervous breakdown with its accompanying problems and discords.

Other discordant conditions that have disappeared are severe headaches and a bad case of hemorrhoids—both of long standing. A badly sprained ankle and a scalded foot were healed through my own understanding. I have learned that, as Mrs. Eddy states (Science and Health, p. 390), "It is our ignorance of God, the divine Principle, which produces apparent discord, and the right understanding of Him restores harmony." Also, I have been spared some unpleasant ordeals, in most unusual and unexpected ways, thereby proving the truth of the statements (ibid., p. 228): "There is no power apart from God. Omnipotence has all-power, and to acknowledge any other power is to dishonor God. The humble Nazarene overthrew the supposition that sin, sickness, and death have power. He proved them powerless."

As I look back over fifteen years, the progress which I have achieved fills me with the deepest gratitude to our beloved Leader, who, through her consecrated life and work and her uplifted thought, was able to organize the Christian Science movement and to make this great discovery, Christian Science, available to all the world.—(Mrs.) Elizabeth Annie Sedgwick, Liverpool, Lancashire, England.
