While I was sojourning on the north shore of Long Island, in an effort to obtain surcease from frequent severe headaches, constipation, and indigestion, a few copies of the Christian Science Sentinel were lovingly offered me by a fellow guest. Through my faithful reading of these Sentinels, untold comfort and assurance of omnipresent good were gained.

A great desire to know more of the divine Comforter led, upon my return home, to the purchase of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. After reading this book, often far into the night, I realized complete freedom from all physical discord, and gained a newer and purer sense of health. Needless to say, the spiritual rebirth that permeated my consciousness was far-reaching. The old garment of confused thinking, double moral standards, prolonged periods of depression, fell away. As the result of my application of what I had gained from reading the textbook, many family disagreements and quarrels were averted.

Contemplating that first reading of Science and Health, I realize that joy over finding answers to questions long unansered by the adult world swelled into a spontaneous and continuous paean of praise, as I read along. Is it any wonder that I realized complete healing through the joyous perusal of the healing truth?
