"Unto you, young men"—And Women!

[Written Especially for Young People]

Some of us who have had the inestimable privilege of attending the Christian Science Sunday School since we were quite small, and who should now be ready to take our place in the world as young men and women, relying on our understanding of God to heal us, protect us, and guide our activities, may be asking ourselves, Are we certain that the truths we have been brought up with are really responsible for our good health and happiness? Or do we entertain the supposition that we could get along just as well without them? If we are being tempted to think along the latter lines, we only need to be convinced of how the true understanding of God has blessed our home life, by comparing it with that of some of our friends who have not accepted the teachings of Christian Science.

Some of those who know not the why and the wherefore of this material existence, and are in constant fear of illness, loss, and lack of employment, are a prey to these inharmonious conditions. Surely then we should awake to realize the golden opportunities for us who know the way out, and should go forward rejoicing in the work that lies before us. It is our task to help raise all mankind from the dream of material conditions, and the suffering it entails.

Let us not be subject to the temptation to let things slide. Apathy is the greatest foe to progress. Let us consecratedly reject all evil suggestions as they present themselves, and continually practice the law of Love to our fellow men, so that we may "all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: that we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; but speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ." It is only as we individually demonstrate more of the Christ in our own lives, that mankind in general will be lifted out of the mesmerism of evil beliefs, and will come to realize that God's kingdom is come "in earth, as it is in heaven."
