Christian Science was first presented to me when, at the age of twelve, I began to attend the Sunday school. Since then I have depended upon this truth for the solving of all my problems. One particularly outstanding healing was that of scarlet fever, which was eradicated within a period of two days, after all the symptoms had been manifested.

In "Miscellaneous Writings" (p. 267) our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, gives us this inspiring message: "Action, in obedience to God, spiritualizes man's motives and methods, and crowns them with success." A while ago I arrived at a place in my experience where I felt heavily burdened with a sense of excessive work. This uneasiness distressed me until I seriously sought its solution. Having done this, I was very quickly awakened to the recognition that this was an opportunity for me to prove that man's one and only purpose is actively to express the Christ-qualities or the Godlike qualities, regardless of the action to which the material senses might testify. This inspiration bore fruitage to such an extent that the earth-bound notion of tilling the soil was eliminated and replaced with a joyous discernment of enlarged service and helpfulness, bringing with it greater strength and endurance. At this time I was instantaneously healed of a discomfort that is generally believed to be an injury from overexertion.

This revelation of "obedience to God," discovered by our Leader, was so successfully expressed in her own experience that she was enabled to give the world Christian Science. For the privilege of serving in this organization, for the loving help received from our practitioners, and for class instruction, I am sincerely grateful.
